Maxim Leitsch is a 23-year-old centre-back for VfL Bochum. Leitsch was born on May 18, 1998 in Essen, Germany, and spent his youth career playing for Essener SG 99/06 until 2007, SG Wattenscheid 09 from 2007 to 2008, and VfL Bochum from 2008 to 2017. His senior career continued at Bochum beginning in 2016, where he has since made 35 appearances and scored 1 goal. Leitsch has also played for Germany’s U18, U19, and U21 squads, making 7 appearances between 2015 and 2021. After Bochum’s promotion at the end of last season, Leitsch said it was a dream to have achieved promotion with the club where he grew up and had been playing for years.
