Monthly Meeting Minutes
July 26, 2015
The fifth monthly meeting of the Philly Bundesliga Fan Coalition (BFC) took place on Sunday, July 26, 2015.
Philly BFC Tippspiel
A link to the Matchday 1 Tippspiel form was added to the newly updated Philly BFC website. Mike will be creating the forms and will promote the Tippspiel to the internet, while Kat will work behind the scenes on the spreadsheets. The Tippspiel Table has it’s own page on our website. A tiebreaker system for the end of the season has to be discussed within next couple months, but it was decided that participants that correctly predict the winner of a match, or if a participant correctly predicts that a match will end in a draw, three points will be awarded. Obviously zero points if the team a participant picks to win ends up losing. Good luck!

Volksbarmarch
The third annual Volksbarmarch will be held on Saturday, August 15. The march starts at Brauhaus Schmitz at 9:30 AM, goes to BRÜ (Chestnut St) around 11:40 AM, leaves BRÜ for Bierstube (Market St) around 1 PM, and returns back to Brauhaus Schmitz around 2 PM. Participants will be given buttons and are encouraged to bring along their Philly BFC scarves. The scarves are available for purchase at Brauhaus Schmitz for $25.

Upgraded Website
As mentioned above, we have an upgraded website that includes a mobile-view. Please email us ([email protected]) if you have any website suggestions. We know there is an issue with the embedded calendar on iOS devices. If you have a Gmail account and would like to be added to our calendar, please email. Once added to the calendar, you’ll be able to see it on your phone’s calendar app.

Bundesliga Flash Crawl
During our meeting, we pretty much gave up on the idea of the Bundesliga Flash Crawl, but in the past week, Fox has announced an expansion of their Bundesliga coverage. Fox plans to show 58 matches on FS1, which most bars probably have as part of their cable packages. The first flash crawl won’t take place until at least October.

Philly BFC Informational Cards
Kat showed the updated info card design (thanks, Alex S.!) and we agreed that Kat should order 500 of the one-sided, glossy cards. The cards will arrive before the Volksbarmarch.

Philly BFC Field Trip
Kat brought up the Philly BFC field trip to the Labor Day Fest at the Cannstatter Volksfest-Verein on Sunday, September 6. She will create a Facebook event and we will finalize transportation details before September.

Pope Visit
The Pope is visiting Philadelphia on September 26, which is poor Holy planning by the Pope, Mayor Nutter, and their staffs. Bundesliga is scheduled for that Saturday, but nobody will want to try to get into the city, unless you already live in the city, like Kat, or if you’re really into seeing the Pope speak. During the June meeting we brought up the possibility of watching the matches at Otto’s Brauhaus in Horsham, but after looking at Fox’s updated Bundesliga schedule, it appears that they’re only showing matches that Saturday on FS2 and FSP. This will be on the agenda for August meeting.

The next monthly meeting will take place on Saturday, August 29 at 12 pm. FC Bayern München vs. Bayer Leverkusen will be shown at Brauhaus starting at 12:30 pm. Kat will send out a Facebook Group invite.
