Tobias Sippel is a 33-year-old goalkeeper for Borussia Mönchengladbach. Sippel was born on March 22, 1988 in Bad Dürkheim, West Germany, and spent his youth career playing for SV 1911 Bad Dürkheim from 1993 to 1998 and 1. FC Kaiserslautern from 1998 to 2005. Kaiserslautern signed him to his first professional contract in 2006, and he spent one season playing with Kaiserslautern II in the Oberliga Südwest. He then joined the first team as the third keeper, then became the second keeper. He became the starting keeper in the 2007-08 season, helping Kaiserslautern avoid relegation to the 3. Liga. He joined his current club on May 26, 2015 on a free transfer, and also appeared for Germany’s U19 and U21 squads between 2007 and 2010.
