Markus Schubert is a 22-year-old goalkeeper for Eintracht Frankfurt, on loan from FC Schalke 04. Schubert was born on June 12, 1998 in Freiberg, Germany, and spent his youth career playing for SV Lok Nossen from 2004 to 2008, Riesaer SC from 2008 to 2011, and Dynamo Dresden from 2011 to 2017. His senior career continued at Dresden, where he made 41 appearances between 2015 and 2019, and became the youngest active player in the club’s history when he debuted in a game against Preußen Münster in November 2015. On July 5, 2019, he joined Schalke on a 4-year contract, and made his Bundesliga debut on December 15, 2019 in a 1:0 home win against Frankfurt. He joined Frankfurt on September 30, 2020 on a 1-year loan. Schubert has also made 24 appearances for Germany’s U17, U18, U19, U20, and U21 squads since 2015.
