Lars Lukas Mai, whose nickname is “Lasse”, is a 19-year-old defender for FC Bayern München. Mai was born on March 31, 2000 in Dresden, Germany, and spent his youth career playing for Dynamo Dresden until July 2014, when he transferred to his current club. Mai made his professional debut on April 21, 2018, when he played the full 90 minutes against Hannover 96, becoming the first player born in the year 2000 to play for Bayern in the Bundesliga. He signed his first professional contract on April 27, 2018, and has made more than 40 appearances for Bayern’s senior and reserve squads. Mai has also played for Germany’s U15, U16, U17, and U18 squads, his older brother Sebastian plays as a center back for Hallescher FC, and his father Lars was a member of the supervisory board of Dynamo Dresden from November 2013 to November 2017.
