FC Kaiserslautern from 2001 to 2003, SV Dörbach from 2003 to 2009, and Eintracht Trier from 2009 to 2014. His senior career continued at Trier until 2015 and 1. FC Kaiserslautern until 2017, where he made 27 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga. On August 22, 2017, Koch transferred to Freiburg for a reported 3.5 million Euro transfer fee. Koch is the son of former professional footballer Harry Koch, who also played for 1. FC Kaiserslautern from 1995 to 2003
