Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the match’s only goal in Friday’s victory over Ingolstadt in the Westfalenstadion. The goal came early, in the 14th minute, and the win brought Dortmund within 3 points of Leipzig in the table. Dortmund’s Mario Götze will not play again this season and instead receive treatment for a metabolic disorder diagnosed in February. Dortmund midfielder Gonzalo Castro has signed a new contract that will keep him at Dortmund until 2020. Castro joined the club from Leverkusen in 2015, and since then has scored 10 goals in 71 appearances. Bayern München’s Douglas Costa will not appear in Saturday’s match against Borussia Mönchengladbach, having suffered a left knee injury. Bayern will also travel without Arturo Vidal, who is under suspension, and coach Carlo Ancelotti said that defender Jerome Boateng will not start given his gradual comeback from an injury. Hertha Berlin’s Salomon Kalou has signed a new contract with the club, the details of which were not immediately made public. The Ivory Coast international joined Hertha from Lille in 2014 and so far this season has 6 goals and 4 assists in 16 games, and his contract had been set to expire at the end of this season. Hamburg said this week that they are still waiting to receive offers for US attacker Bobby Wood. Wood joined Hamburg from Union Berlin last summer and has so far scored 5 goals and been praised by coach Markus Gisdol as one of the team’s key players. Wood has a 10 million Euro release clause in his contract that could be triggered as early as this summer, and several Premier League teams are rumored to be interested in him. RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner has received his first callup to Germany’s national squad. Werner has had an impressive season, with 14 goals in 23 appearances, and will now likely appear against England and Azerbaijan. With the callup, Werner becomes the first RB Leipzig player to compete for the German national team, and will join fellow forwards Julian Draxler, Andre Schürrle, Lukas Podolski, Thomas Müller, Mario Gomez, and Leroy Sane.
